I grow up in Argao and left there when I went to college. From then I only go there once in a while. I am proud to be an Argawanon as the place had produced well rounded people who were well respected and successful in their personal and professional careers which had been an inspiration to the younger generation. Every time I meet people from other places and when they knew me I am an Argawanon, they always mention the successful people like the Davide’s, Kintanars, Albaracin and lately the Remondes’. The culture and tradition of the Argawanons who are known for down to earth and simplicity has brought honor to all of us.

Those known and famous are mostly public servants but there are more successful Argawanons out there who had chose to remain quiet and simple who are known to be very industrious and now very successful in their own chosen lives. To the younger generation of Argawanons, I call your attention to adhere to this tradition as you continue to journey in this challenging times. May you will preserve and continue to seek for higher heights for us to be a proud Argawanon.

The place is also full of beautiful nature places worth discovering for and also of its peace loving people. May the current young breed of local officials may bring bright ideas to propel Argao to a tourist destination in the south. Other municipalities in the south had been attracting foreign tourists to visit their places and new resorts are on line better than in Argao. Please keep this as a challenge to the local officials to develop infrastructures and attract investors in the field of tourism so that Argao may regain as a choice tourist destination in the south of Cebu.
